Our little Man

I'm taking a stroll down memory lane with this post. So hard to believe Grayson is 4 years old. I love looking back through the old pictures of him, it is so fun to look back and remember that time. It's funny how it feels like an eternity ago yet it all goes by in a blink of an eye. I feel like I don't remember a lot of the stages of the kids until I look at the pictures. It makes me realize how much they change and how quickly it all happens.
Grayson is so neat to me because he's a boy. And for us he is the first boy in the family. With Duncan and I only having sisters and we had 8 neices between the 2 of us, Grayson was the first boy to the family so he is really interesting to me because I feel like I know girls and I get that, but I don't really know a lot about the boys. So he is teaching me a lot about boys along the way. Often times I call my mom, and all she can say is "hunny, he is all boy" I am just shocked at times with the "boy" stuff :) Thank goodness Jackson came along on the Bagley side! When him and Grayson get together Grayson gets his boy rough house play out of the way :)

This picture really takes me back. Back to our po-dunk Missoula, Montana hospital. What a neat memory this is. I loved Montana and I love that we had Grayson over there. Compared to having Addison at Valley Medical in Renton, this hospital really isn't state of the art. But Grayson survived it and so did I! I just love thinking about that day, having both of our dads with us and our sisters. It was unbelievable! This little guy came out screaming so loud it freaked me out, I didn't know what to do to calm him down, then Duncan finally leaned in and started talking to him and the he quieted right down. I'll never forget it. He was a great little guy, gave us a run for our money at the beginning. After him, Addi was a breeze :) He still is the top whiner in our house, but I'll take it!

OK....so I haven't seen this picture in 2 years now. And I came across it when I was looking today. This picture is huge to me. First off, its the first picture I've put on of my Dad since he passed away. Second of all, I remember this day like it was last month. Dad brought this Thomas the Train book to Grayson and his first set of Thomas the Train's. He was telling me how everyboy needs his trains! Well I swear to God, to this day, this is Grayson's favorite book! The night that Dad gave it to him he went back and put Grayson to bed and read the entire book. It is a huge book and takes over a 1/2 hour to get through, but it kinda turned into their thing. Dad kept bringing him a new train every so often and everytime he came Grayson would go get this book so they could read it together. I remember taking it to my Dad with a marker and making him sign his name in the book, he kind of looked at me crazy, but took the pen and wrote to Grayson, love your Grandpa. Now I LOVE looking at this book (which Grayson still reads every couple days) and seeing my Dad's handwriting. Thank God for pictures!!!!
